THE BRONX - The year is coming to an end, but a number of unsolved crimes remain on the NYPD's radar.
The fatal shooting of teen Kemar Brooks in July 2012 is among the cold cases covered by News 12. The 14-year-old's body was found by his father at Haffen Park in Baychester near the tennis courts where he used to play.
The murder of 15-year-old Destiny Sanchez over the Thanksgiving holiday last year also remains open. Police found the teenager in the hallway of a Hunts Point home on Barretto Street.

Authorities are still actively investigating a third violent crime involving a child. They say a 9-year-old was shot in the left foot on Dec. 18 on East 175th Street and Crotona Park North, and that the gunman fled in an older model white Chevrolet Impala.
Police ask that anyone with information on any unsolved cases call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
