THE BRONX - A 79-year-old Bronx woman shot by a stray bullet Monday afternoon has been released from the hospital.

Noberta Duval was struck in the stomach near River Avenue and East 153rd Street at around 3:45 p.m. She is in the early stages of Alzheimer's and was unable to recall exactly what happened, but her daughter says she saw a group of young men shooting at each other.

Duval was only grazed by the bullet, but her daughter says she feared for her mother's life.

"I was crying because I thought she was going to die," says Mirna Medina Duval. "I began calling for help."
