THE BRONX - The labor and delivery unit at North Bronx Central Hospital will be reopening its doors.

Expectant mothers were transferred to Jacobi Medical Center when labor services were suspended back in August, igniting a number of protests from both patients and nurses.

The city's Health and Hospital Corporation initially maintained that the closure was a necessary merger in order to utilize resources more effectively.

A spokesperson now confirms that the change will be reversed in the coming months.
