Northbound barriers nearly done on Bronx River Parkway
THE BRONX - The state Department of Transportation (DOT) says northbound barriers on the Bronx River Parkway are nearly complete.
The construction began shortly after an accident last April that claimed the lives of seven Bronx family members. Now, the state DOT is installing permanent concrete barriers in each direction in hopes of making the parkway safer.
Once northbound barriers are complete, workers will construct southbound barriers. Officials say all construction is expected to be finished by early spring.
