NYC athletes take on NJ in Memorial Classic

THE BRONX - Top basketball players from the five boroughs took on their counterparts from New Jersey in the Sharette Dixon Memorial Classic.

Cardinal Hayes guards Tyler Wilson and Shavar Newkirk were among the Bronx players who helped the New York City boys squad earn a 112-98 win.

The tournament was originated by former Bronx AAU coach Kimani Young, in memory of his late wife.
