NYC pools officially open for the summer

THE BRONX - New York City residents looking to beat the heat this summer now have somewhere to go, as all 55 outdoor public pools in the city officially opened this morning for the summer.

With the temperature climbing again this weekend, pools in neighborhoods such as Bronx River and Crotona Park are already crowded with people trying to stay cool.

The pools will remain open through Labor Day.
