THE BRONX - A new affordable housing unit is coming to the Bronx.

Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. joined NYCHA officials for a groundbreaking event on the new Soundview Family Housing project at 1610 Randall Ave.

Developers have released an aerial shot of the site, as well as renderings of what the eight-story building will look like.

Construction is slated to be completed by fall 2015. Low-income families can apply for one of the 120 units through a lottery beginning as early as July 2015.
