THE BRONX - The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) says it could get hundreds of thousands of dollars to spend in Mott Haven, but it needs the community's help to secure it.

The U.S. Housing and Urban Development is giving the public housing agency $300,000 in a Choice Neighborhoods Grant, but officials need to decide in the next few weeks how they should spend it with input from the public.

NYCHA will hold several meetings on the subject until the end of May. The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday at the Brook Houses Community Center, located at 455 East 148 St.
