NYPD: 2 dead, 1 injured in University Ave. shooting

THE BRONX - Police say two people are dead and another is injured after a gunman opened fire at a park near University Avenue and West Fordham Road.

Police say 22-year-old Allen Michael Matos and 17-year-old Edwin Liz were both shot in the torso at around 8 p.m. last night. Both were rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital and pronounced dead shortly after.

Another 40-year-old male was shot in the leg and was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, according to authorities.

Police say they are still investigating the incident and that no arrests have been made.
