THE BRONX - The NYPD says it has two suspects in custody for the shooting death of 17-year-old Alphonza Bryant, who was killed on April 22 in Morrisania.
Bryant's death caught national attention after Mayor Michael Bloomberg mentioned his murder to defend the controversial stop-and-frisk tactic.
Bryant was gunned down in front of a Fox Street apartment building, just blocks from his home.
Bloomberg said Bryant did not appear to be the intended target and was a victim of too many illegal guns on the street.
Police have not released the suspect's names.
