THE BRONX - The NYPD is increasing efforts to crack down on illegal dirt bike riding as riding season approaches.

Some people say illegal dirt bike and ATV riding has become a trend in the Bronx.

Recorded stunts are often shared on social media for views, but the NYPD is now using similar posts to find illegal riders.

The NYPD has seized 65 dirt bikes, motorcycles and ATVs in the past two weeks, but says they are calling on the public for assistance.

Police say if someone is caught riding an illegal dirt bike or ATV, they will be arrested and the bike with be confiscated.

Officials ask anyone who sees illegal riders in their area or knows information on where to find them to call 911.
