THE BRONX - Police are investigating two homicides in the Bronx as the holiday weekend gets underway.

Last night at around 7:40 p.m., police say they found a 28-year-old man shot in the torso on the corner of West Burnside and Andrews Avenue. Emergency crews took the unidentified victim to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A witness says she saw a group of eight or nine men arguing before she heard gunshots.

Police are also looking for 25-year-old Jamie DeJesus, who they say shot Alex Rodriguez in the head last Thursday. Rodriguez was shot on Tiebout Avenue and was put on life support, but died a few days later.

Anyone with information on either homicide is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
