BROOKLYN - An off-duty police officer is recovering after being shot in Brooklyn.

It happened at around 10 p.m. Tuesday on Bradford Street and Linden Boulevard in the East New York section of the borough.

According to police sources, 33-year-old Tramaine Oxley, an officer at PSA 2 in the neighborhood, was in the passenger seat of his cousin's car when two men approached and tried to rob them.

The officer was taken to Brookdale Hospital where he's listed in stable condition.
