THE BRONX - An NYPD officer is recovering after being bitten by a pit bull while on the job in Mott Haven.

Police had entered an apartment building on 141st Street when the dog allegedly bit the officer at around 7 a.m. The cop was taken to Jacobi Medical Center, treated and released.

It's unclear why police were in the building, but one witness says he was told there was a raid.
