THE BRONX - Testimony continued Friday in the departmental trial of an NYPD officer who shot and killed an unarmed Bronx teenager.

Officer Richard Haste recounted the events that led him to shoot 18-year-old Ramarley Graham in the bathroom of his home in 2012.

Haste testified that he felt anxiety and fear before encountering Graham in the hallway.

Haste's lawyer, Stuart London, said that the defendant was remorseful for the tragic end to the shooting, but that his actions were justified.

There were various moments of outbursts from the victim's family -- when Haste claimed that he told Graham to show his hands, and when he said the teen instead cursed and ignored his commands.

Graham's mother disputes that account and says Haste told a blatant lie.

The NYPD found that the 2012 shooting was within the department's guidelines but that Haste did not follow proper tactical procedures.

They say he failed to call for specialized back up and tried to kick in the front door of Graham's home.

Haste has been on modified duty since the shooting. He told the court the last thing he wanted do was pull his trigger.

The Graham family says they want Haste fired and that the situation could have been prevented if he followed protocol.
