THE BRONX - A number of police officers who patrol Bronx streets have been promoted to various ranks.

NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly led a ceremony for dozens of members of the force Tuesday, including about 10 assigned to the borough.

Kelly said that holding the ceremony right before Thanksgiving is perfect because it reminds everyone to thank the people who keep the city safe.
