MANHATTAN - Police officials held a press briefing Thursday on recent law enforcement operations, including the arrest of an 11-year-old boy accused of deliberately setting a bus on fire outside a Jewish school in Crown Heights.

The city's top law enforcement officials had a strong message for alleged gang members and others looking to commit violent crimes across the city, saying, "The NYPD will take action."

Chief of Department James O'Neill and Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce were among those at One Police Plaza in Manhattan saying last month's historic gang takedown in the Bronx as well as Wednesday's bust at the Beekman Houses are just a few examples of the department's hardline stance.

Officials say they expect 20 more takedowns across the city over the next two months. They've reportedly been wiretapping phones, scouring social media accounts, and using undercover officers to bust gangs.
