NEW YORK - The NYPD says that a photo that emerged of a boy riding a subway train is not that of a missing autistic teenager.

The picture closely resembled 14-year-old Avonte Oquendo, who hasn't been seen since walking out of his school in Queens on Oct. 4.

The photo was published by Newsday, which reported that it was taken by a 13-year-old boy who posted it to his Facebook page.

Oquendo's family says they remain hopeful that he will be found.
