NYPD report: Several precincts experiencing rise in violent crime

THE BRONX - Several police departments across the city are reporting crime increases in their communities. According to the NYPD, nine police precincts were found to have a boost in violent crime. The 42nd Precinct in Tremont experienced a rise in rape, robbery and felony assault as compared to last year's statistics. NYPD officials say they believe the recent numbers are not indicative of an upcoming trend. They say crime fell in 43 out of 76 precincts.
