NYPD reports rise in rape cases

The NYPD says rape cases are up 11 percent citywide this year. In the Bronx, police officials say the number of reported rapes is equal

THE BRONX - The NYPD says rape cases are up 11 percent citywide this year.

In the Bronx, police officials say the number of reported rapes is equal to last year, but there have been spikes in certain precincts.

Rape cases in the 40th Precinct have risen 54 percent, while incidents in the 42nd Precinct have climbed 82 percent.
