SOUTH BRONX - New numbers released by the NYPD shows robberies are on the rise in one South Bronx precinct.

According to numbers, the 40th Precinct saw an almost 70 percent spike in robberies in August compared to last summer. 

Thefts for the year are up nearly 10 percent from last year.

In recent weeks, a local pharmacy and a Rite Aid in the precinct have both been robbed.
