NYPD searches for man in violent attack at Bedford Park apartment building

BEDFORD PARK - Police are looking for a man after a violent attack in Bedford Park was caught on camera.

The video shows the suspect walking into an apartment building near East 201st Street and Briggs Avenue at around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. A woman, clutching her bag, puts up a fight as the man struggles to steal from her. 

The man punches the victim to the ground and runs off without any belongings.

The NYPD say EMS responded and transported the victim to the hospital where she was treated for a facial fracture and a cut on her head.

The suspect is described a bald man, between 5'8'' to 5'11'' and wearing gloves. Police say he took off on a bicycle.
