NYPD searching for serial burglar targeting Belmont homes

BELMONT - Police say they are on the hunt for a serial burglar that has been targeting Belmont homes for months.

Investigators say the suspect is behind a string of burglaries that date back to August. The most recent burglary took place just one week ago.

Police say the suspect enters through a first floor apartment window and snatches property before making a run for it. Neighbors say they believe the suspect is using an abandoned house to gain access since all the backyards are connected.
