THE BRONX - The NYPD is currently looking for a woman wanted in a lottery scam.

Police say a woman walked up to a 75-year-old on Westchester and Intervale avenues and convinced her to hand over $8,500. The suspect claimed that she won the lottery, but could not cash the ticket due to her immigration status.

The woman then asked the victim to to collect the winnings, but only if the victim handed over the cash in good faith.

Police say that the suspect even drove the victim from an ATM to her home.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
