THE BRONX - The Bronx officer who gunned down a teen in Wakefield back in 2012 is now facing a trial by his own police department.

Officer Richard Haste pulled the trigger on 18-year-old Ramarley Graham after Haste says he saw Graham take part in a drug deal. Haste then chased Graham into his home, where he was later shot.

Haste thought the teen was reaching for a gun, but no weapon was ever found. The officer was stripped of his gun and badge following the incident. He was never charged in a criminal trial.

An indictment was dismissed in 2013 against Haste, and the U.S. Justice Department found earlier this year that there was not enough evidence to federally charge him.
