NEW YORK - An undercover detective has pleaded not guilty to gang assault in connection with a violent biker attack on an SUV driver.

Wojciech Braszczok appeared in a Manhattan courtroom Wednesday with a hood and scarf covering his face.

Prosecutors say Braszczok, who was off-duty at the time, participated in the Sept. 29 melee by shattering a back window on the SUV.

According to police, bikers converged on the SUV and beat its driver after he bumped a bike in front of him on Manhattan's West Side Highway, and ran over a biker while trying to get away.

The driver of the SUV has not been charged. Investigators say they're still looking for more participants in the assault.
