NYPD: Woman raped at knife point in Soundview

THE BRONX - Police are asking for the public's assistance in finding a man who they say raped and robbed a woman at knife point in Soundview.

According to investigators, the suspect approached the 21-year-old victim at around 1 a.m. Monday. They say he forced her to a rooftop landing on Banyer Place, where the assault took place.

Officers say the man got away with some of the victim's belongings.

The suspect is seen in surveillance footage riding a scooter past the building where the assault occurred. Police describe him as 6 feet tall and 140 pounds with braided black hair, brown eyes and a large rash on the right side of his face. 

The woman was taken to Jacobi Medical Center for evaluation.

Anyone with information on the suspect is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
