Off-duty officer injured in Pelham Bay shooting

PELHAM BAY - ? Police are questioning a man after an off-duty New York City police officer was shot and wounded after a dispute this morning.

Police said the officer is in stable condition at Jacobi Medical Center with a wound to the lower back.

He had been at the Pelham Bay Diner around 5 a.m. when the argument with another group took place.

Police said the suspects took off in a car, and so far no arrests have been made.

Police are looking for a number of Hispanic males who fled in a dark-colored Chevrolet Caprice.
