THE BRONX - The police officer accused in the fatal shooting of an unarmed Bronx teenager last year was back before a judge today.

Richard Haste is facing manslaughter charges in the death of Ramarley Graham. Investigators say Haste and another officer were working to reduce drug sales in Wakefield when they identified the 18-year-old as a suspect and chased him into his home.

Haste shot and killed Graham, saying he thought the teen was armed, but no gun was found.

Today's court date was originally scheduled for next week. Graham's family says they think the last-minute change was an effort to deter protesters, but their supporters showed up anyway.

Haste will be back in court again on May 7.
