Officer shot in Wis. Sikh temple hails from NYC

THE BRONX - NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly says that the officer shot nine times in the Sikh temple shooting in Wisconsin hails from New York City.

Officials say that Lt. Brian Murphy, who grew up in Brooklyn, is in critical condition. He's being hailed a hero for telling those trying to help him to go find the shooter. The 51-year-old officer is the brother of Terry Murphy, a former detective who retired from the intelligence unit of the NYPD just a month ago. Their dad still lives in Brooklyn.
