BROOKLYN - Two people are dead after an early morning 5-alarm fire at an apartment building in Brooklyn on Monday, police say.

It happened at a 3-story apartment building at the corner of Richardson and Lorimer streets around 1:30 a.m. according to police.

Two firefighters were also injured in the blaze, according to officials. One firefighter fell off of a ladder. Both are expected to be OK.

They say the fire department was able to put the fire out, but discovered a body after searching the building.
