THE BRONX - A new effort will soon bring more affordable housing to the Morrisania section of the Bronx.

NYCHA along with the Bronx Pro Group and other partners held a ground-breaking ceremony this morning on Washington Avenue.

The new building will include the latest green technology and 49 units.

Officials say 21 of the units will be for public housing, while the remaining 10 are for those who were previously homeless.

Construction on the building is due to wrap up by 2014.
