THE BRONX - Officials say a man died after an early morning fire Sunday in Wakefield.

Officials say the flames ignited just after 2:40 a.m.

James Tutein, 36, was found inside a third-floor apartment at 655 E. 230th St. in cardiac arrest. He was rushed to the hospital, but did not survive.

Three others were also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Neighbors say Tutein had been put in a wheelchair just days before the fire.

Neighbors tell News 12 they remember Tutein as a very kind man who was always singing and always holding the door open for other people.

Fire officials have determined that the cause of the fire is not suspicious. They say the fire may have been an accidental electrical fire.
