THE BRONX - Police says they are now investigating the discovery of a decomposed body in Hammonds Cove Marina on Monday afternoon as a homicide. 

Officials have identified the victim as 60-year-old James Michael Brannon. 

Police say Brannon’s last known address was in Montana and have not yet said how or why he was in the Bronx.

Authorities say he was discovered inside a crate.

Officials are now trying to figure out how long the body was out there for.
