Officials warn of dengue fever for Bronx travelers

THE BRONX - City officials are warning people traveling to Latin and Caribbean American countries to be aware of contracting dengue fever.

The fever has claimed three lives in Puerto Rico this summer. Officials there are spraying areas where there are signs of an outbreak.

Dengue fever is caused by a virus spread through mosquitoes. Symptoms include headaches, joint pain, a rash and light bleeding.
