THE BRONX - The results of a three-year pedestrian traffic study from the Tri-State Transportation Campaign are being detailed in a new online map.

The interactive map breaks down the most dangerous roads for walkers throughout the city from 2010 until 2012. Users can see fatalities by year, and varying colors represent the age of a pedestrian killed and exactly where the accident happened.

The results show that East Gun Hill Road, the Grand Concourse and White Plains Road are the worst roads for walkers in the Bronx, with 72 total pedestrian deaths. However, the numbers did decline from one year to the next.

Officials hope the map will help lawmakers pinpoint what roadways are the riskiest and are in greatest need of traffic improvements.
