THE BRONX - Opening arguments were presented today in the corruption trial of Bronx Councilman Larry Seabrook (D-District 12) after a jury was selected yesterday.

Federal prosecutors say Seabrook took hundreds of thousands of dollars in secret payments and stole millions from the city.

The councilman faces federal charges on 13 counts and could spend the rest of his life in prison if found guilty. Seabrook has maintained his innocence.
