Orchard Beach drowning raises questions

THE BRONX - One day after a man drowned in the waters of Orchard Beach Saturday, some witnesses say they're concerned with the rescue attempt.

Witnesses say 33-year-old Joseph Christopher Bellaby of Yonkers was pulled from the water onto the boardwalk as lifeguards tried to resuscitate him.

One of the lifeguards request a defibrillator to help restart Bellaby?s heart, but a defibrillator was never brought to them, according to witnesses.

Officials say Bellaby did suffer from cardiac arrest.
