Orchard Beach's summer music series kicked off today with the first of eight concerts, sponsored by popular Spanish radio station La Mega.

The Puerto Rican Power performed at the beach today until 5 p.m. The show, like the rest in the series, featured free admission.

Bronx residents even brought their own instruments to play along to headliner Ray de la Paz.

The outdoor events are designed to promote fun and community involvement and will take place every Sunday through Sept. 1.
