THE BRONX - The principal at P.S. 386 has been accused of failing to report inappropriate behavior by a teacher eventually charged in the rape of a student.
According to the special commissioner of investigation for the city's school district, principal Angelyn Donald failed to report that students claim they witnessed Anthony Criscuolo engaging in inappropriate behavior with a 10-year-old. One student says they saw the 40-year-old passing a note to his alleged victim, and others reported spotting Criscuolo and his victim kissing in an empty classroom.
Department of Education spokesman David Pena released a statement, saying, "We take these matters very seriously. Department of Education employees have an obligation to report any incident of sexual misconduct. The principal will be reassigned away from the school and we will be seeking her termination."
