PAL evening teen centers a safe haven

THE BRONX - The Police Athletic League's evening teen center in Longwood provides dozens of youth an alternative to staying out on the streets.

With the teen centers, the PAL aims to reduce juvenile delinquency and other negative behaviors by providing a safe place where the teens can interact. Participants take part in sports and recreational activities, including skill-building and leadership programs.

The PAL has secured funding to keep the center open during the summer months.
