THE BRONX - With Thanksgiving only a few days away, Bronx pantries are struggling to keep up with increasing demand.

At the POTS (Part of the Solution) soup kitchen and food pantry, the freezers are full with food, but not with turkeys, which many people have asked for leading up to the holiday.

"We have put [families] on a waiting list for turkeys, but it's doubly heartbreaking because these are families that are new to hunger," says Maureen Sheehan, the development director of POTS.
