Parents dissatisfied with P.S. 106 mold removal

THE BRONX - Parents of students who attend P.S. 106 in the Bronx say they aren't satisfied with the way the school has handled a mold problem in some portable classrooms.

Parents testified at a City Council Education Committee meeting about the mold last month. The co-president of the Parents Association says Department of Health officials and Department of Education officials inspected the classrooms Tuesday and determined they are safe to occupy.

Parents say school officials have yet to assure them the portable classrooms are mold-free.

The deputy chancellor for infrastructure says officials will meet again with parents Thursday night.
