Parents, students at P.S. 24 urged to walk to school

THE BRONX - Parents and students at P.S. 24 are urged to walk to school today. The initiative is part of an effort to promote alternatives to driving.

School officials say walking to school not only promotes exercise but also reduces traffic and pollution from cars. Leaders say traffic around the school can be dangerous.

Parents handed out stickers and water bottles during the walk to keep students active.
