Parents, teachers protest P.S. 14 principal

THE BRONX - Dozens of parents, teachers and former teachers turned out at a PTA meeting in the Bronx tonight to protest an elementary school principal.

The parents and teachers demanded answers from P.S. 14 Principal Jason Kovac. The group says they want to know why the school's grade dropped from an "A" to a "C" since he joined the district in 2008.

Angry parents also say nearly 20 teachers have left because of Kovac. The meeting turned into a question and answer with the principal, but Kovac walked out.

News 12 The Bronx reached out to Kovac who said he was unavailable for comment.

Community Board 10 will hold a special meeting to address the issue on Nov. 3.
