Parkchester residents get long-awaited bus line

THE BRONX - Residents in Parkchester are finally getting a bus line in the area after budget cuts eliminated a popular bus six months ago.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is adding the Bx4A to provide direct service between Westchester Square and the subway hub at 3rd Avenue. The previous bus, the Bx14, was eliminated in June and residents say they have been fighting to get a bus for their area.

The Bx24 also replaces some of the earlier bus route servicing those in Spencer Estates and Country Club.
