Parks Dept. cancels Van Cortlandt Park Christmas race

THE BRONX - The Parks Department has squelched the efforts of city marathon runners by canceling this year's Christmas race in Van Cortlandt Park. Race organizers say department officials sent them a rejection letter earlier this week, saying they cannot use the park as a venue for the marathon. News 12 The Bronx reached out to Parks Department for comment, but has yet to hear back on the issue.
