A local barber teamed with the nonprofit to help some kids get ready for the start of school.

THE BRONX - A local nonprofit is doing its part to get young scholars ready to go back to school.

Part of the Solution, or POTS, provided about 60 kids with free haircuts, in addition to giving them free backpacks and school supplies. The organization provides services to assist families as they transition from financial hardship.

Parents say the back-to-school cuts are a big help because of all the other things their students need before getting back to the classroom.

The haircuts were given by a local barber who donated his services.
