THE BRONX - A partially blind woman is suing the MTA over claims that bus drivers have repeatedly harassed her and refused to let her board their vehicles with her service dog.

Hannah Josiah says she has been harassed by MTA bus drivers in the Bronx seven times since May.

The MTA allows customers with disabilities to bring their service animals into all transit facilities. It also suggests, but does not require, that customers carry a service animal identification card, which Josiah says she has.

Josiah claims the bus drivers have either passed her by or denied her access onto the buses, believing that she isn't disabled and that her dog, Jasper, isn't hers. She also says they have used profane language, reported her to the authorities on three instances and even berated Jasper.

Josiah says she suffers from depression and relies heavily on Jasper to relieve her consistent anxiety.

Josiah says she habitually rides on the 6, 15 and 21 bus lines to go to her doctor appointments.

An MTA spokesperson told News 12 that they could not comment on pending litigations.
