Pedestrian killed in Wakefield hit-and-run

THE BRONX - A 26-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Wakefield early this morning.According to police, Jermaine Elliot was walking near his home at East 233rd Street and Barnes Avenue when he was struck by a white box truck. Elliot was dragged by the truck for about a block, police and witnesses say. He was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center and pronounced dead.No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
